för någon vecka sedan såg jag filmen blue valentine. filmen handlar om ett modernt par som spelas av ryan gosling och michelle williams. genom cross-cutting får vi följa dem under flera års tid.

about a week ago i saw the movie blue valentine. the movie deals with a contemporary couple, michelle williams character cindy and ryan goslings character dean. we follow them over a span of years by cross-cutting between time periods.






det är en film som är väldigt fin på sina ställen men mest av allt tyckte jag att den var otroligt deprimerande.

i think this movie has a few beautiful moments but most of all i think it is depressing.






ryan gosling är bra. michelle williams är bra. skådespeleriet är faktiskt väldigt bra.

men... berättelsen är otroligt deprimerande. cindy och dean träffas när de är unga och på grund av olika omständigheter bestämmer de sig för att gifta sig och bli en familj. cindy studerar och vill bli läkare, hon har drömmar. dean är väldigt sympatisk och bryr sig verkligen om andra människor.

but, the story is incredibly depressing. cindy and dean meets when they are young and due to different circumstances they decide to get married and become a family. at this time, cindy is studying and wants to become a doctor and dean is a very endearing man who really cares about other people.






deras framtid tillsammans blev inte riktigt som de hade föreställt sig. cindy arbetar som sjuksköterska och dean har slutat bry sig om någon annan än sig själv och sin dotter.

their future together is not quite what they once dreamed about. cindy is working as a nurse and dean has stopped to care about anyone else than himself and his daughter.






en bra film trots alls, även om det inte är min vanliga genre.

blue valentine is a good movie and i liked it even though it is not my usual genre.

another earth, en film som jag gärna vill se.

david yates’s most vivid memory of emma is watching her suddenly let go of her steely professionalism and for once just be young and free. they were filming a death scene from hallows part 2 on a freezing-cold beach in wales. the actors were miserable, especially emma, who hates the cold and dislikes getting wet even more. but out of nowhere, he recalls, “she ran into the icy water and stood there, holding herself against the waves with her arms outstretched, just laughing.” in that brief moment he got a sense of what it must be like to have a multibillion-dollar industry dependent on your every move and be only nineteen years old.

my favourite movie when i was a kid: men in black, beverly hills cop and memento.







hottest actor: joaquin phoenix or a young al pacino.

hottest swedish actor: i have no idea.

best swedish movie: no idea. i don't watch swedish movies because the fooley sound are way. too. loud. and the script is almost always kind of bad. but if i have to choose, i would say some of atmos documentaries, perhaps surplus - terrorized into being consumers.






best movie animal: well,  i like hedvig and buckbeak and aslan.

best animated movie: avatar and the adventures of tintin.

best disney movie: eh...the lion king. i wanted to be a lion when i was a kid.

best movie hero: harry potter of course.

best movie heroine: mathilda in léon or lucy in narnia.

best movie scene: the opening scene in orson welles touch of evil.



 


best tv-serie this year: bored to death and grey's anatomy. always, grey's anatomy.






movie crush: joaquin phoenix in walk the line or my all time favourite snape in the harry potter movies.

if i directed a movie: it would probably be a movie about how we handle the consequences of our actions, about loss and loneliness. and a lot of long, poetic takes and shallow depth-of-field to a backdrop of beautiful wilderness, mountains and oceans. and the sound picture would be great of course. and the most important, with an open ending. (i hate epilogues).

favourite genre: wes anderson-quirky and tarantino-witty-stylish.

worst genre: oh my god, romcom of course!

best short movie: ray tintoris death to the tinman.






movies i am looking forward too: drive, shame, a dangerous method, the hunger games and edgar j. hoover.






best movie couple: ah, agent cooper and audrey horne in twin peaks (i know twin peaks is not a movie but still, they make a great couple). or rick and ilsa in casablanca.






best movie this year: harry potter and the deathly hallows part two and tree of life.

who would play the part as you: i do not look like any actress but it has to be someone quite short with dark hair. perhaps ellen page.

who would be your co star: hm, harry potter would be cool. he is a real person, right?

first movie crush: i don't know, batman or shaggy and scooby.

best movie soundtrack: the life aquatic, in the mood for love, the harry potter-movies and the twilight saga-movies. i listen to motion picture soundtrack like others listen to music by lady gaga. and oh, the movie was kind of lousy but i was honestly surprised by the motion picture soundtrack in the movie hanna. especially how they integrated the song the devil is in the details.

på tal om film, här kommer en annan som jag gärna vill se. det är absolut inte min vanliga genre då sportfilmer, enligt mig, brukar vara ganska dåliga (undantaget lords of dogtown). jag hoppas på mer biografi och drama än sport och förresten brukar brad pitt göra bra filmer. jag håller tummarna.

speaking of movies, this is another one that i would like to watch. which is kind of strange since i normally don't go for sportmovies since i think they are kind of poorly executed (except lords of dogtown). i'm hoping for more biography and drama than sport and besides, brad pitt is usually very good at picking his movies. i cross my fingers.

jag tittade på en av mina favoritfilmer igår, tarantinos inglourious basterds. tycker att den är ett strålande exempel på hur en film kan vara filmisk men fortfarande riktigt bra. det finns inte så många sådana.

last night i watched one of my favourite movies, tarantino's inglourious basterds. i think that movie is an excellent example of a movie that is cinematic or filmic but still great. there are only a few of those.






filmen är rå, brutal, rolig och typiskt tarantino. dessutom är christoph waltz, mélanie laurent och brad pitt väldigt bra.

det sämsta med den här filmen är enligt mig diane kruger i den här scenen, där jag tycker att hon spelar över. annars tycker jag faktiskt att hon är ganska bra i den här filmen, hon balanserar på en fin linje mellan att spela över eller inte vilket fungerar i resterande scener. hon skall ju trots allt utmärka sig som skådespelerska och orutinerad dubbelagent. 

the worst part of this movie is, according to me, this scene with diane kruger because i thinks she is overacting a bit. i actually thinks she does a great job in the other scenes she has but not in this one. usually she overacts a little bit but that's okay because it suits her characters circumstances.

en film där alla är mer eller mindre galna.

a movie where everyone is mad, more or less.

för ett tag sedan såg jag filmen tintins äventyr - enhörningens hemlighet. jag hade så extremt höga förväntningar eftersom jag älskade hergés serier när jag var liten. det var inte den absolut bästa filmen jag någonsin sett men den infriade mina föväntningar och jag tyckte om den. låt mig förklara, det var kanske inte handlingen som nödvändigt vis var det viktigaste utan utförandet. jag tror att hergé hade gillat det.

a while ago i saw the movie the adventures of tintin by steven spielberg and peter jackson. i had extremely high expectations because i used to love hergés stories when i was a kid. i have to admit it is not the best movie i have ever seen but i was definately satisfied with the result, i actually liked it a lot. let me explain, it was not the plot that made it that good but the execution. it was very well done and i think hergé would have liked it.






jag reagerade på hur fin ljussättningen var i vissa scener samt hur detaljrik filmen var.

when i saw it i thought about how well they set the light and how detailed the scenes came out.






sedan var det såklart vissa saker som jag upplevde som mindre bra. som att dupond och dupont numera hette thomson och thompson, så att det skulle fungera även för den amerikanska publiken som inte är lika vana med tintin som vi i europa är. annars tycker jag att deras slapstick fungerade förvånandsvärt bra.

of course there were some things that i wanted to be different, like that dupont and dupond was called thomson and thompson, but in a way i actually thought their slapstick worked out a lot better than expected.

det skall bli intressant att se hur nästa film om tintin kommer att se ut. jag upplevde berättandet som väldigt spielbergskt och ser fram emot var peter jackson kan göra i regissörsrollen.

i am already looking forward to the next movie when peter jackson is directing and steven sprielberg producing because i thought the narrative to be very spielbergian and it would be nice to see what peter jackson can do about it.

det var länge sedan jag blev så fascinerad och totalt uppslukad av en film som när jag såg valhalla rising av nicolas winding refn. den utspelar sig omkring år 1000 och på sätt och vis kretsar den kring mads mikkelsens karaktär one eye. one eye säger inte ett enda ord under hela filmen och besitter någon form av övernaturlig styrka (eller något annat).

it has been a while since i saw a movie that really fascinated me. that happened when i watched nicolas winding refns movie valhalla rising a few weeks ago. it takes place in 1000 bc and it somehow tells a story that circles around mad mikkelsens character one eye. he is a mute warrior who possesses a supernatural strenght (or something else).






inledningen är otroligt rå och brutal så ogillar du våld på film skall du definitivt inte se den här filmen.

the beginning is incredible raw and brutal so if you do not like violence in movies i highly recommend you to not see this movie.






på något sätt hamnar one eye och pojken are på en båt med vikingar som skall till det förlovade jerusalem. det går inte riktigt som de hade tänkt sig då de hamnar i en dimma och vet inte var de är.

somehow, one eye and the slave boy are ends up in a boat full of vikings heading for the promised jerusalem. well, it does not go as they had planned because they got caught in the fog and are dislocated for a while.






jag har väldigt svårt att sätta fingret på vad det är som är så fascinerande med den här filmen. den är långsam, den är tyst (eller ja, det är ju aldrig tyst på film, men det är mycket vind som blåser och så vidare), det är knappt någon dialog och det händer inte speciellt mycket. för min del trot jag att det beror på hur den är filmad. jag tror också att jag gillar filmer där den egentliga handlingen inte är tydlig, utan den utspelar sig till stor del inne i betraktarens huvud. jag gillar ljudbilden. filmen består av massor av små hintar och mytologi och därför skall jag inte berätta vad jag tycker vad den handlade om eftersom det knappast är intressant när, eller om, ni väljer att se den själva.

i cant put my finger on whats so fascinating with this movie. it is slow paced, it is silent (well, a movie is never silent, but it is a lot of sounds like the wind is blowing and such stuff), there is almost no dialogue and the story is basically a group of people wandering in a slow pace, not talking, making mistakes. but, i liked it. i liked the beautiful scenery and cinematography, i loved the sound picture and i actually like movies were the plot is not quite clear and plays out mostly in the head of the viewer. there are a lot of hints and mythology and i am not going to tell you what i think the movie was all about because it does not matter when, or if, you see it for yourself.

en sak som jag verkligen gillar är tv-serier, eller skall jag säga välgjorda tv-serier (hbo är ju grymma på detta). alltså inte amerikanska sitcoms eller en av mina tråkigaste serier nångonsin, two and a half men. är inte detta amerikansk buskis? jag förstår inte. hur som helst, ni vet säkert mycket mer än vad jag gör om tv-serier men jag vill ändå tipsa om två serier som jag ännu inte har sett men som jag gärna vill se.

i really do like tv-shows, or perhaps i should say well-made tv-shows (hbo is awsome). i do not like american sitcoms or my absolutely worst tv-show ever, two and a half men. isnt this american slapstick? i dont get it. however, i bet you know a lot more about tv than i do but i would like to say some words about two tv-shows that i have not yet been able to see but that i would like to watch.

little white lies, som tydligen skall vara världen bästa filmtidning (måste undersöka detta), valde att sätta filmen drive som omslag på sitt 37:e nummer och kalla den the drive issue. det måste ju betyda något. dessutom är väl ryan gosling 2011 vad james franco var 2010.

little white lies, supposed to be the best movie magazine in the world ( i have to investigate this closer), chosed to call their 37th issue the drive issue and put ryan gosling on the cover. it has to mean something, huh? and besides, ryan gosling seems to be now what james franco was 2010.






trolljegeren är en norsk film i stil med the blair witch project som handlar om trolljägare. det låter knäppt och sjukt intressant i mina öron. dessutom tycker jag att trollen ser oväntat välgjorda ut för att vara en skandinavisk film. spännande och måste ses! hoppas bara att de mixat ljudet bra för jag kan inte se t.ex. svenska filmer längre på grund av de otroligt överdrivna trampljudet. är det någon mer än jag som tänkt på detta? se en kort sekvens av vilken beck-film som helst så kommer ni fatta vad jag snackar om.

the trollhunter is a norwegian movie in the same style as the movie the blair witch project but about trolls and trollhunters. it sounds crazy and super interesting in my ears. furthermore, i think the trolls looks very well done for being a scandinavian film. exciting! i just hope that the sound is mixed in a more natural way than for example swedish movies is used to be because i cant stand the incredible loud foley sound effects.






alltså, jag är ju väldigt svag för joaquin phoenix och måste se den här mockumentaryn. ni missade väl inte hans konstiga framträdande hos letterman 2009?

i love the lord of the rings-trilogy so i couldnt be more excited about this. these two movies takes place before the famous quest.

en remake av sin egen film frankenweenie från 1984. det är alltså 21 år sedan tim burton och winona ryder arbetade tillsammans med edward scissorhand. bästa reuniun!

här kan vi snacka höga förväntningar! steven spielberg regisserar och peter jackson producerar, nästa film om tintin byter de arbetsuppgifter. det mest spännande med den här filmen tycker jag är tekniken. de använde sig av performance capture som är en detaljerad användning av motion capture (avatar) där skådespelarna arbetar mot en bluescreen men cinematografen ser den detaljerade bakgrunden i sin filmkamera. hej framtiden!

i have high expectations for this movie! steven spielberg is directing and peter jackson producing, next tintin movie they will change their job assignment. but the most exciting thing about this movie is the techique. they used performance capture which is a more detailed kind of motion capture (avatar) where the actors act in front of a bluescreen but the cinematographer can see the detailed background in his or her movie camera. hello future!
