för någon vecka sedan såg vi på dokumentären my architect i skolan. en väldigt bra dokumentär även för dem som inte gillar monumentala byggnader så väldigt mycket eftersom den kanske mer handlar om relationen mellan pappa och son, om svek och lögner, om hopp och förtvivlan och om ensamhet. nathaniel kahn försöker förstå varför hans pappa louis kahn valde att leva som han gjorde.

igår såg jag snow white and the huntsman, en otroligt snygg film!
last night i saw snow white and the huntsman, an incredibly good looking movie!
kristen var bra, hon är enligt mig den enda som klarade sig ur twilight-filmerna med hedern i behåll.

charlize theron var outstanding. hon ägde alla scener hon var med i och gjorde filmen intressant.

sedan kan man ju undra lite hur de tänkte när de castade chris hemsworth som the huntsman. noll personkemi i alla fall. hade önskat fler scener mellan drottningen och snövit istället.
i'm sorry to say this but there were no chemistry between kristen stewart and chris hemsworth. instead i wanted more scenes between the queen and snow white.
sammanfattningsvis kan jag säga att charlize theron var grymt bra, produktionsdesignen fantastisk men det var kostymen som var ofantligt bra! jag tycker faktiskt att filmen är värd att se enbart för den sakens skull.
to sum this movie up i would like to say that charlize theron was incredibly good as the queen, the production design was amazing but the costume was absolutely outstanding! i would like to say that even if you don't like fairytales, you should watch this movie just because the beautiful costumes.

för någon vecka sedan såg jag filmen the hunger games, som är baserad på boken med samma namn skriven av suzanne collins.
about a week ago i watched the hunger games. if anyone somehow missed it, the movie is an adaption of the book written by suzanne collins.
filmen utspelar sig i en dystopisk framtid i nationen panem som består av tolv olika distrikt samt huvudstaden. på grund av tidigare uppror och oroligheter har regimen ett straff i form av hungerspelen. det betyder att en tjej och en kille mellan 12 och 18 år varje år blir skickade att delta i en tävling som går ut på att de skall döda varandra, den som blir ensam kvar är segraren. alla i hela panem är tvungna att titta. fast jag tror egentligen att de flesta av er redan hade koll på detta!
the movie takes place in a dystopian future in the nation of panem. panem is divided between twelve districts and the capitol. because of earlier risings the regime has formed a punishment for the districts, every year a girl and a boy between 12 and 18 from each district are choosen to participate in the hunger games. it means, they have to kill each other, the only one left is the winner of the games. all people in panem are obliged to watch. but i believe most of you already knew this stuff!
huvudpersonen heter katniss everdeen och spelas av jennifer lawrence. jag tycker att hon gjorde den här rollen så himla bra. hon är verkligen otroligt duktig.

jag tycker även att elizabeth banks gjorde rollen som effie trinket väldigt bra. hon var nog den som jag upplevde var mest lik karaktären i boken, alltså väldigt irriterande.

det här är ett minne, eller en scen, som kanske kunde ha utvecklats lite mer. jag har läst böckerna tidigare, men det hade inte mina systrar gjort och jag är inte säker på att de verkligen förstod hela innebörden med detta. fast å andra sidan, just detta minnet var kanske inte filmens viktigaste scen heller. i boken var det livsavgörande, i filmen upplevde jag det inte så.
this is a memory, or a scene, that i belive could have been more developed. i have read the books, but my sisters had not and i do not believe that they understood the whole impact of this scene. but, it can also be that the scene in the movie is not supposed to be vital, it is just in the books.

jag hade nog önskat att filmen hade haft en högre åldersgräns. boken är mycket mer rå och brutal, vilket inte filmen var. snarare hade hollywood förpackat den i en mer barnvänlig version för att på så sätt kunna tjäna mer pengar. jag gillade verkligen boken, och filmen var helt okej den med, men jag kände mig lite för gammal. jag hade nog föredragit om den hade visat mer brutalt våld, för att verkligen visa hur hemskt det måste vara. nu tror jag istället att många som satt i publiken nästan önskade att de på något sätt kunde få vara med. dessutom hade jag kanske önskat att filmen hade varit lite mer samhällskritisk. det kändes som om överflödet i huvudstaden inte riktigt fick plats, eller utnyttjades, i narrativet.
i wish that the movie would have had a restricted raiting. the book was so much more raw and brutal, but i guess hollywood wanted to make more money. i mean, the movie was okay, i liked it, but i felt a bit too old watching it. i believe that more brutal violence would have shown how horrible it should have been being there in the games. now i belive, that some in the audience actually wanted to be there, which felt a bit weird. and besides, i would have wished the movie to be a little more socially critical. the surplus in the capitol was not fully used in the narrative.
sedan hade jag verkligen önskat mindre taylor swift och mer klassiskt i musikväg. jag tror att klassisk musik och mer våld hade gjort filmen mer poetisk brutal. det hade gett en större effekt. bokens budskap når inte riktigt fram.
then i have to say, i wished that the music could have been a little less taylor swift and a little more classical. classical music and more violence would have made this move more poetical and brutal. the message in the book is not clear enough in the movie.
en bra film, inte den bästa jag sett, men helt klart sevärd.

drive är en av mina absoluta favoritfilmer, jag tycker att den är helt genialisk.
drive is one of my favourite movies, i find it ingenious.
filmen handlar om driver, som är ryan goslings namnlösa karaktär. det är en man som vi egentligen inte vet så mycket om och som är ganska tystlåten. driver arbetar som bilmekaniker och stuntförare men frilansar som getaway driver på natten. han försöker lägga sitt förflutna bakom sig när han träffar carey mulligans karaktär irene och hennes son.
the movie is about ryan goslings nameless character driver. we do not know much about him and he is a silent man, he does not talk much. driver works as a garage mechanic, a hollywood stunt driver and freelances as a getaway driver at night-time. he is trying to put his, presumably, shady past behind him when he meets carey mulligans irene and her son.
irenes man skall snart släppas från fängelset men när han äntligen är frigiven börjar problemen på riktigt. han har nämligen en stor skuld att betala. driver, som gillar irene och hennes son, erbjuder honom sin hjälp. det går inte riktigt som de hade tänkt sig.
irenes husband is soon to be released from prison, but when he is finally a free man again, everything is not fine. he has a huge debt to pay and driver, who likes irene and her son, is offering his help to protect them. it does not work out as they planned.

carey mulligan har en liten roll som inte är så utvecklad, men hon är ändå bra. som alltid.

det tog verkligen ett tag innan jag fattade ryan gosling. i blue valentine var han såklart bra, men filmen var så otroligt deprimerande att handlingen tog över. han var verkligen bra i the ides of march, men samtidigt är det många som hade gjort just den rollen bra. men, i drive är han så otroligt bra! kan inte fatta hur bra han är i den här filmen alls. så duktig.
it really took a while for me to get ryan gosling. he was, of course, really good in blue valentine, but the movie was so depressing that the plot somehow took over. he was really awsome in the ides of march, but still. i know many actors who would have made his part probably at least as good as he did. but, in drive, he is magnificent! i can't wrap my head around his performance. it was flawless.
ljudbilden var helt fantastisk, soundtracket var kanonbra. speciellt i öppningsscenerna av filmen när driver försöker undkomma polisen till tonerna av tick of the clock av chromatics. även kavinskys nightcall är väldigt bra. låtarna är väldigt inspirerade av 80-talet, vilket också går igen i den rosa drive-loggan. hela filmen är en modern tolkning på filmer från 60-, 70- och 80-talen. jämför drive med valfri clint eastwood western. en man utan förflutet kommer till ett nytt ställe, byt ut hästar mot bilar. ni fattar. något som jag tycker är lite tråkigt är att hollywood inte alls verkar förstå winding refn. precis som postern för valhalla rising är trailern för drive helt missvisande. vill man se adrenalinpumpande action och galna biljakter genom l.a. är inte det här något för dig, det här är absolut inte ännu en fast & furious-film. det här är så himla mycket bättre.
the soundimage was amazing, the soundtrack outstanding. especially the opening scenes when driver is trying to escape the cop to the tunes of tick of the clock by chromatics. and kavinskys nightcall is also very good. the songs are inspired by the 80´s, and so are the drive-logo. well, i would say that the entire movie is an interpretation of the movies made in the 60´s, 70´s and 80´s. for example, compare drive to any clint eastwood western. a man of very few words and no past comes into town, replace the horses with some nice cars and well, you get it. something that i find a little bit sad is that hollywood does not seem to get winding refn. just take a look at the valhalla rising-poster or the drive-trailer. totally misleading. this is not another fast & furious-movie. this is so much better.
övriga karaktärer i filmen är också väldigt bra, rollerna är väldigt välskrivna. de ger en bra kontrast till den tystlåtna driver. cinematografin är så väldigt bra. tempot i filmen är hypnotiskt. jag tycker att det här är den bästa filmen sen bullit i sin genre, trots att death proof egentligen är en enda lång biljakt kommer den inte alls upp i den här standarden. förra årets bästa film, enligt mig.
the bad boys and gangsters makes a nice contrast to our quiet hero driver, all the parts are very well written. the cinematography is great. the pace is hypnotic. i think this is the best movie since bullit in this genre. even if death proof is actually only one really long chase, it is not as good as drive. i think this is the best movie of 2011.
filmen är blodig. jag var så otroligt uppslukad av filmen och måste erkänna att jag inte reagerade på det nämnvärt men såhär i efterhand kan jag förstå om man tycker att den är brutal. dock måste jag säga att jag inte tycker att den är meningslös, blodet porträtterar den värld driver lever i.
the movie is kind of bloody. i was so absorbed by the movie so i honestly did not give it much of a thought while watching but in retrospect, i can see why some people say it is too bloody and too brutal. i have to say, i do not find the blood meaningless. it portraits the world driver lives in.
