aliceinwonderland.

oh! me and my sister just came home from the cinema, we have been watching this movie. i cant think of a movie more adorable than this one! and by the way, some of you have wished for more music on this blog so i made you a playlist, but it is terrible hard to get the spotify link to work properly. do you have any idea of how i will do to make it work?

lostintranslation.

one of my favourite movies are lost in translation. it is a truly amazing sofia coppola-film about loneliness and friendship that doesnt demand you to have anything in common. about finding eachother when you need it the most, even if you feel lonely and lost. and the lighting is amazing, i always got goose bumps on my arms because of the beauty.

i want a lamp like this. so smart.

about not knowing what to do with your life, even though everybody else seems to know. and about thinking that you are 25 years old and the life si not at all how you thought it would be.

charlotte: so, what are you doing here?
bob: uh, a couple of things. taking a break from my wife, forgetting my son's birthday. and, uh, getting paid two million dollars to endorse a whiskey when I could be doing a play somewhere.
charlotte: oh.
bob: but the good news is, the whiskey works.

charlotte: let's never come here again because it will never be as much fun.
bob: i don't want to leave.
charlotte: so don't. stay here with me. we'll start a jazz band.

(last lines)
bob: bye.
charlotte: bye.
bob: bye.
(bob leaves charlotte and walks back to his waiting taxi)
bob: (to taxi driver) all right.

thelifeaquatic.

now its time for me to tell you about another of my favourite films. this time i want to tell you about the great movie the life aquatic with steve zissou. so smart.

it is an amazing story about everything that is important in life. like red hats, matching pyjamas, research-turtles and glow-in-the-dark jellyfish.

åh, bellafonte!

oh, bellafonte!

"steve zissou: where'd you come from? you look pregnant."
"jane winslett-richardson: i am pregnant. i'm not even going to ask what you men are doing out here in your matching pajamas, by the way."

and the crew. i like steve (bill murray) and klaus (willem dafoe) most in their red hats. i think i will print their photo and carry them around in my wallet.

åh. bill murray, finaste.

oh. bill murray, the apple of my eye.

one of my greatest passions are movies. and léon is one of my favourites. just look.

mathilda: there's no doorbell.
léon: so knock on the door.

mathilda: is life always this hard, or is it just when you're a kid?
léon: always like this.

mathilda: leon, i think i'm kinda falling in love with you. it's the first time for me, you know?
léon: how do you know it's love if you've never been in love before?
mathilda: 'cause i feel it.
léon: where?
mathilda: in my stomach. it's all warm. i always had a knot there and now... it's gone.
léon: mathilda, i'm glad you don't have a stomach ache any more. i don't think it means anything.

mathilda: i don't wanna lose you, leon.
léon: you're not going to lose me. you've given me a taste for life. i wanna be happy. sleep in a bed, have roots. and you'll never be alone again, mathilda. please, go now, baby, go. calm down, go now, go.

så fin

wildatheart.

min bästa intervju är den här som jag fann på dazed digitals hemsida. intervjuen handlar om maurice sendak, som ursprungligen skrev böckerna om vildingarnas land och regissören till filmatiseringen where the wild things are, spike jonze.

my favourite interview are this one i found at dazed digitals homepage. the interview is about maurice sendak, the original authour of where the wild things are and the director of the movie where the wild things are, spike jonze.

Spike Jonze: I think when people give you a reaction that is personal to them and you can tell it affected them in some way that they really thought about, and that touched them in some deeper way, I love that…

Maurice Sendak: Well, when it’s more than just, “I had fun reading your book,” or “What a funny story that was,” yes… I never intended it to be just a cute or funny story. I’m a tiresomely serious man, as well you know. Everything has to mean something. I remember the book I did called ‘Outside, Over There’, which I’m very fond of – a little girl wrote from Canada “You have disappointed me very much, I always liked your books but I hate this one, and I hope you die cordially.”

Spike Jonze: Bullshit! She didn’t write that.

Maurice Sendak: And then there was a note attached by her mother, saying “I wondered whether I should send this letter because it’s very harsh, it’s very rude, but she is so upset and she wanted so much to let you know that you upset her, that I felt it only right.” And she said, “By the way, I thought you should know, I’ve just had another child and she just can’t bear it that I have another child.” The book is about a girl that has to look after her baby sister – and that’s a nightmare for a lot a children – and she was furious. Children don’t know how to be polite – “I hope you die,” is what she said. (laughs)

Spike Jonze: That’s great!

Maurice Sendak: It was great because it was so real.

Spike Jonze: So real. She had to take out her confusion and frustration on someone, so it had to be you.

Maurice Sendak: And who’s better than me? She also said: “You scare me. Why do the babies have hoods over their heads? My mummy explained that sometimes the tailor makes a mistake and made the hoods too big, so if the hoods fit better you would see their faces and they wouldn’t be so scary. So that part I don’t blame you for.”

Spike Jonze: Ha ha! That’s great.

Maurice Sendak: I mean, when you get reactions like that, you know you’ve touched a button. But is it good? Did she need to be frightened? I needed to exorcise this little anxiety of mine –that was my need. And I wasn’t thinking of her needs… but she always made me cry.

Spike Jonze: How come?

Maurice Sendak: Because of how easy it is to hurt somebody, or push the wrong button... I entered where I had not been invited. I just blundered in and what was making her unhappy was simply that another child taking up room in the house, and was going to take her mother’s attention from her. It was just unbearable.

Spike Jonze: And does that worry you at all? That you make something that might make someone upset as a kid?

Maurice Sendak: Yes but you don’t really know. I’ve never received a letter anytime from anybody that’s said, “Frank jumped out the window shortly after reading your book – you scared the hell out of him. How do you feel about that?” (pause) Not bad! I didn’t much like him. (laughs) No, nobody’s ever said such a thing.

Spike Jonze: It’s weird I have no idea, like the movie’s about to come out, and I don’t really know what we made – I tried to make a film that felt like what it feels like to be a person that age, to be nine and trying to decipher this world you suddenly find yourself in the middle of… with all these strange people, behaving in strange ways. What does it all mean? And so that was my goal, and I feel like I did that – but I have no idea…

Maurice Sendak: You’ve no idea what you’re touching.

Spike Jonze: Right.

Maurice Sendak: Or where you’re touching it. You know, it’s something to be concerned about.  But I think if in your heart and in your creative energy brain, you are seeking out a real puzzle and you’re not looking to frighten anybody, you’re not looking to upset anybody… you’re just looking to discuss a subject which you yourself went through when you were nine. You just can’t remember the difficulties of one’s own childhood – so, [upsetting people] can happen. It’s unfortunate, but its better then lying, I think. Anything is better than lying.

meandthestills.

movies are one of my big passions besides of fashion, music and art. and im so in love with movie stills. sometimes i can flick around the site coming soon for ages, im not kidding. harry potter, narnia, charlie and the chocolate factory, finding neverland... it is like reexperience the movie once again but from another view. then you should know im that kind of person that is looking through the whole movie, you know all the after texts. and i always watch the extra materials. as you understand, it takes hours for me to watch just one movie. and often im looking for the soundtracks at spotify and reading the book if there is one. you know, im like obsessed. sometimes im already obsessed even before the movie have hit the theaters and thats a bit tough. at the time, im obsessed with coraline, alice in wonderland and so coco before chanel. the last one is like paradise, there are so many stills i cant really cope. just look.

sources: coming soon.

yes.

this movie is hitting the theaters in mars 2010 and i can tell, this is going to be awsome. i mean, alice in wonderland (breath taking), tim burton (love), johnny depp (love) and helena bonham carter (love, even if she killed sirius black) are no doubt a yes yes yes combination. this is going to be so smart!
